Armed Forces Entertainment Takes Chicago group to the Caribbean

Hot hip-hop band Animate Objects will entertain troops stationed in the Caribbean, October 4 - 17.  Hailing from Chicago, Animate Objects embodies the spirit and soul of the new generation of hip-hop music.  Led by Emcees CZAR Absolute and Wondur, the band has won the praise of critics and peers, while performing at some of Chicago's most legendary venues such as Metro, Millenium Park, the Double Door, Elbo Room, Hot House and Subterranean.

Animate Objects was formed in 2003, bringing together some of Chicago's finest hip-hop players and songwriters.  Only two weeks after the group came together, it won Chicago's Triangle Battle of the Bands.  Since then, the band has won other awards, including the Metromix/Chicago Tribune 2007 Rock N' Vote and the 2007 iGo Audio Emissions debut CD contest. Recently, the band took first place in the Going.com’s competition for the best, unsigned band in Chicago. Their debut album, "Riding in Fast Cars with Your Momma" has received rave media reviews has created a buzz among industry professionals.

"We are huge, huge, huge supporters of our troops and want to bring them something that they're missing while they're far from home," said Prashant Vallury, the group's bass player. "We couldn't play the music we play if it weren't for the guys and gals out there protecting our freedom.  They are the true ambassadors of our culture and our lifestyle."

“The live instrumentation mixed with a DJ and harmonizing vocals really gives this group a different sound,” said Frank Tagatac, Armed Forces Entertainment regional and circuit manager for the Pacific and Caribbean. “The troops always look forward to seeing fresh, new acts perform—and the Animate Objects definitely fall into that category.”
