| The Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders will show their support for troops and their families when they bring their dynamic entertainment to U.S. bases in Italy, Portugal and Egypt, Febuary 4 - 17. The Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders Show Troupe is comprised of 15 squad members and the popular mascot, Freddie Falcon. The group's show includes a wide variety of entertainment including singing, dancing, skits and audience interaction.
"We’re so excited to go overseas and visit our wonderful troops again," said Chato Waters, coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders. "Our show is a tribute to our military men and women. Sometimes it's easy to take for granted all that we have here in America, but when we see firsthand some of the hardships the troops and their families face, far from home, it makes us appreciate even more all that they do for us. We want to say 'thank you' for all that they do for our country."
The Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders are well known for their ability to ignite fans' spirits in the Georgia Dome on game days. Yet, it is their involvement in the Atlanta community that has attracted national recognition for the group. The cheerleaders make an average of 500 community appearances a year, visiting schools, churches and non-profit organizations. Their platform is creating awareness of physical fitness, nutrition and health. In addition, they conduct several cheerleading and dance clinics throughout the year to motivate children and adolescents to stay fit and strong through exercise and healthy eating.
"These ladies always put on a fabulous show for the troops," said Marine Corps Captain Jesse Davidson, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit manager for Europe and the Mediterranean. "With the wide variety of entertainment they offer, the show has something for the entire family -- kids and their parents."
