| Legendary rocker and Poison front man, Bret Michaels, is bringing his legendary rock music to entertain troops October 1-9. He will be performing some of his chart-topping singles such as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Somethin to Believe In” for military personnel stationed throughout Southwest Asia.
“I have such a tremendous respect for the troops and what they do for us,” said Michaels. “It’s a real honor to be able to perform for the men and women that are fighting for our country. I just want to do what I can to give back by bringing them a little bit of home to enjoy--because no one deserves it more.”
Though an established, successful musician with Poison, Michaels has also experienced great success as a solo artist. Setting off on his Freedom of Sound solo tour in 2005-2006, which extended throughout the U.S. and into Canada, Michaels broke attendance records at numerous venues. Now, coming off the heels of the recent release of Poison’s cover album Poison’d, Michaels will be taking his tour overseas for military audiences.
With several family members and friends who have served in the military, Michaels has always been an avid supporter of the troops. In the past, he has contributed to organizations and charities helping to boost military morale, but this is his first time touring for Armed Forces Entertainment.
“It’s great to have the talent and star power of Bret Michaels play for our men and women of the military,” said Army Captain Trevor Garrett, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit manager for Southwest Asia. “He is a world-renowned rocker and his music appeals to such a diverse audience, which is exactly the type of crowd we have.”
Bret Michaels is currently stars VH-1’s Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, a love-based reality television show.
Additionally, Michaels has released two solo albums “Songs of Life” and “Freedom of Sound.” He has also performed with Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down, Mark Wills, Chris Cagle, Stevie Nicks, Uncle Kracker and Phil Vassar.
