Country singer heads out on first overseas tour with Armed Forces Entertainment

Country songstress Brynn Marie will bring her special style of holiday spirit to troops stationed in Southwest Asia from December 14 to January 3. Brynn Marie, who has been described as "the girl next door from the small town of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania," was recently named top new artist of 2008 by Music Connection Magazine. Brynn Marie, who first began performing in the Pittsburgh area while still in high school, recently released her first CD, Start Now. She has already had the opportunity to work with such renowned artists as Emerson Drive, Loretta Lynn, Mark Wills, Phil Vasser and Restless Heart.

"It means the world to me to be able to go overseas to perform for our servicemen and women who are fighting for our freedom," said Brynn Marie. "This is the hardest time of year for them to be far from home. I want to touch our brave troops with our music and put on a show that will bring them a little bit of home during the holidays."

Brynn Marie promises to deliver a performance that includes "a guy-rock thing turned into a girl-country sound" featuring popular cover songs, as well as some original material. One of the highlights of the show will be a set of Christmas songs, where the audience can sing along. Brynn Marie will be joined on tour by lead guitarist Ford Thurston, bassist Randy Venturini, rhythm guitarist Buddy Hall, keyboardist Marc Bunch and drummer Ryan Cirota.

"Brynn Marie is an inspirational singer whose captivating live performance is sure to lift everyone's spirits -- especially during the holiday season," said Army Captain Erik Ogilvie, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit manager for Southwest Asia. "Her band is an extremely versatile group who can perform everything from modern and traditional country to some great classic rock. It's guaranteed to be a good time for everyone."
