| Connelly Springs, NC-based hard rock band A Course of Action will embark on their first Armed Forces Entertainment tour in the Pacific, performing in Singapore and Diego Garcia August 5-18.
A Course of Action was officially formed in May 2006, but many of its members have been playing together since 2003. The band consists of John Culberson, vocals and rhythm guitar; Jonathan Byrd, lead guitar; Tony Hawkins, bass guitar and Greg Lucy, drums. Influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin, the band focuses their hard rock sound, creating polished original songs and expanding their local/regional presence.
“The guys and I feel the great thing about touring with Armed Forces Entertainment is that not only is it an excellent cause but also an ideal way to see the world-- meanwhile doing what we love,” said Culberson. “We are also giving a little bit back to those who are contributing to the freedoms we enjoy every day, what could be more rewarding?”
Each member of the group is a seasoned musician and performer. A Course of Action has more than 110,000 hits on national and international websites and has their music available for purchase at 62 locations all over the world. Their recent song “Move On” is currently getting a lot attention during live performances and on websites devoted to music.
“The troops will definitely enjoy this band. A Course of Action has an excellent stage presence and sound,” said Frank Tagatac, Armed Forces Entertainment Pacific regional coordinator. “Their music has that same great rock appeal with an original edge.”
