| The Denver Broncos Cheerleaders will show their support for troops and their families stationed in Hawaii, Guam and Okinawa, January 16 - February 6. The group's variety show includes energetic dance routines featuring a wide range of musical genres and audience interaction.
This is the group's fifth tour with Armed Forces Entertainment. Previous tours have taken the cheerleaders to bases in Iraq, Italy, Afghanistan, Cuba and Egypt.
"We absolutely love going on these tours to perform for our troops," said Shelly Trujillo, assistant director/choreographer for the Broncos Cheerleaders. "Performing for our military overseas is truly a life-changing experience for the girls. This has become a mission for us — to entertain our troops who are far from home."
Trujillo noted that the cheerleaders are most impacted by their interactions with servicemen and women, one-on-one. "Our favorite part of these tours is when we get to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with the troops. These are our most enjoyable moments."
Having completed their 15th season, the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders are known as one of the premier cheerleading squads in the NFL. In 1993, the Broncos brought the squad back after a 17-year absence and the cheerleaders have become a popular tradition at home games. Beyond entertaining fans at the games, the cheerleaders are committed to giving back to their community, donating over 1,000 hours in charity work annually.
"We are delighted to bring the Broncos Cheerleaders on tour once again with Armed Forces Entertainment," said Frank Tagatac, Armed Forces Entertainment regional and circuit manager for the Pacific. "These ladies never fail to light up the stage with their impressive dance moves, Western outfits and outgoing personalities. And, just as important is the time they spend visiting one-on-one with our troops and their families."
