| Grammy-nominated Elida Reyna will help
military personnel find their Tejano beat
when she brings festive Latin music to
installations throughout Europe in September.
Her original band has reunited to put on
exhilarating performances sure to get the
crowd up on their feet and moving.
“Elida puts on a dynamic performance with a great blend of Latino cumbias
and ballads,” said Air Force Captain Aubrey Semrau, Armed Forces Entertainment
circuit manager for the European circuit. “The troops will enjoy her high
energy music and dedication to entertaining an audience.”
Reyna has received numerous Tejano
music awards for best female vocalist
and entertainer and was recently
nominated for a Grammy in 2006
along with Las
Tres Divas. She has been featured in Texas Monthly, Latina, People en Español
and has proudly received the key to her hometown in Mercedes, Texas.
“I really enjoy being able to reach out to the troops overseas, especially
Latin music enthusiasts who do not typically get to see a live Tejano show,” said
Reyna.
“Combining my love for music and supporting military personnel fulfills
me as an artist because I feel I am making a contribution to my country.”
A Texas native, Reyna juggles an active
career and a family. Her family plays an
important role in her life and she values
the fact that several of her relatives
have served and/or currently serving in
the military, including her father. Touring
with Armed Forces Entertainment allows
Reyna to use her talents as an accomplished
singer to be a source of encouragement
to the troops.
