Musical group, Fantasy, brings Motown groove
to troops in the Pacific

Rock Hill, South Carolina music group Fantasy will perform for troops stationed in the Pacific Jan. 31-Feb. 25. The group is set to tour with Armed Forces Entertainment through Japan, Okinawa, Guam and Hawaii.

“We all know someone who has served in the military and deeply appreciate how devoted those individuals are to serving our country no matter the cost,” said Steve Ervin, manager and band member. “We hope that through our performance we may bring joy to the troops and keep their spirits high.”

The band consists of Eugene “Gene” Erin, lead vocals and percussions; Steve Ervin, bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; Myke Furham, lead guitar and background vocals; Jerome Joseph, drums and background vocals; Terence Barber, keyboards; Pete Ross, rhythm guitar and lead/background vocals.

Fantasy plays a mixture of rhythm and blues with Motown roots. Playing together for seven years, the six talented musicians have perfected their vocals with a unique groove.

“This is an excellent group that plays a lot of hits the troops will know, combining old school sound with today’s hits,” said Frank Tagatac, Armed Forces Entertainment Pacific regional coordinator.
