ARLINGTON, Va. – Grammy nominated singer/songwriter John Ondrasik, the dynamic and creative force behind the band Five For Fighting, will perform for service members on his first USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Feb. 27-March 3.

Born into a musical family, the Los Angeles native has been a household name since his Grammy-nominated single, “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” was released in 2001.  The song became an anthem for the public shortly after the September 11 attacks and struck such a chord that Ondrasik performed at The Concert for New York City later that year, which featured performances by Mick Jagger, Elton John and Paul McCartney.  The success of the single resulted in platinum status for the band’s sophomore album, “America Town.”

The band’s third album, “The Battle for Everything,” was released in 2004 and debuted at No. 20 on Billboard’s Top 200.  Its lead single, “100 Years,” reached No.1 on The World Adult Top 40 and has sold nearly 1 million digital singles.  “Two Lights” was released last August and debuted in the Top 10 of Billboard’s 200.  The first single, “The Riddle,” is currently ranked No. 4 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart and went Top 10 on the Adult Top 40 chart.  The band’s new single, “World,” continues Ondrasik’s tradition of crafting inspirational songs.

This tour continues the USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tradition of bringing celebrities to troops stationed far from home.  Entertainers who recently participated in USO tours include Jo Dee Messina, Wilmer Valderrama, Darryl Worley, Drowning Pool, David Alan Grier, Los Palominos and Shinedown.

USO tours are sponsored by AT&T, Inc., the official telecommunications sponsor of USO entertainment tours.
