Cheerleading squad to tour with Armed Forces Entertainment for the second time

The Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders will be entertaining troops stationed throughout the Mediterranean August 30- September 9. The 16 veteran Chiefs Cheerleaders will be visiting bases in Portugal, Sinai, Spain and Egypt, meeting and greeting troops as well as performing their highly-acclaimed variety show. This will be their third tour with Armed Forces Entertainment.

“Our favorite aspect of touring for the military is talking one-on-one with the troops. We’re really grateful for the chance to thank the men and women who sacrifice so much for our country,” said Elaine Hart, Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader Director. “You can ask any of the Chiefs Cheerleaders—getting to do our show for the military is by far the most meaningful performance opportunity.”

The variety show highlights the nation’s military and cultural history from the early 40’s to present day. The Chiefs cheerleading squad acts, dances and incorporates crowd involvement along with 41 costume changes into the performance.  In addition to cheering on their National Football League (NFL) team for 80,000 fans at Arrowhead stadium and performing their two-hour variety show for the military, these cheerleaders make appearances at trade shows, fairs, sales meetings, grand openings and on radio talk shows and television commercials.

“These seasoned performers light up the stage with their energy and enthusiasm,” said Joseph Mennit, Armed Forces Entertainment regional coordinator for the Mediterranean circuit. “They bring down-home, patriotic entertainment that is enjoyed by everyone.”
