Armed Forces Entertainment takes high-energy group on eighth military tour

Based out of San Diego, California, the band Liquid Blue is bringing their electrifying performances to the troops in Southwest Asia, May 4-24. Fusing together an exotic sound of western-pop melodies with ancient and modern Eastern elements, the band will embark on their eighth tour with Armed Forces Entertainment.

Featuring the sensational BlueGirls trio, the seven-member act has gained an international following for their unique sound that's been described as "alternative-pop," "dance-pop" and "world-pop." The band was enthusiastically received by military audiences during their 2001 and 2002 tours in Southwest Asia, Europe, the Balkans as well as Central and South America.

Liquid Blue's "Supernova World Tour" in 2004 took the group to 34 countries with more than 200 performances. The band's biggest concert to date was at the sold-out People's Stadium for their 2002 performance in Dalian, China with more than 65,000 fans in attendance. This concert was televised in Asia with an estimated audience of seven million.

"It’s an honor for us to perform for the men and women who are putting their lives on the line for our country," said Scott Stephens, band manager.  "We regard our Armed Forces Entertainment tour as some of the most fun and important performances we've ever done.”

The band’s critically acclaimed debut CD, Supernova, has sold more than 35,000 copies. The CD has been a top-ten seller on CD Baby and was featured on their bestsellers compilation. In addition, Liquid Blue has received numerous music industry awards, including the International Music Award for Best Band in 2006, VH1 Song of the Year competition’s Best Dance Song in 2004 and National Music Award for America's Best Dance Band in 2001.

"Liquid Blue is a popular act for Armed Forces Entertainment that always receives kudos from their military fans," said Army Captain Trevor Garrett, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit manager for Southwest Asia. "They are a multi-faceted pop group with a strong, lyrical edge and a fun sound that appeals to all ages and cultures."
