Lori Passineau takes the stage with style, performing for troops in Southwest Asia

August 30, 2007 download story

Armed Forces Entertainment will take sultry Lori Passineau on tour to perform for troops stationed in Southwest Asia, September 15 - October 6.  The Los Angeles-based vocalist/songwriter performs a wide range of musical material, ranging from blues and jazz to funk and rock.  Her sound can quickly shift from sensuous, sultry singing to full-tilt rocking out.

Passineau found herself powerfully drawn to music and stage performance at an early age in her native upstate New York.  She spent years focused on intense vocal and performance training and has toured as a performer in both Europe and the United States.  Passineau's diverse musical influences include Bette Midler, Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Tina Turner, James Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Mick Jaggar--but her musical style is truly all her own.

Getting the opportunity to go overseas to perform for the U.S. military is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Passineau.  "As a child I was fascinated by watching Bob Hope's USO tours on television.  I always thought it would be an incredible experience to be on stage performing for the people who are fighting for us and for our freedom," she said.  "I feel so blessed and privileged to be sharing music with those who need it most -- our brave servicemen and women."

Joining Passineau on the Armed Forces Entertainment tour are L.A. based band members Johnny Sanchez on guitar, Charles Baratta on drums, Jessica Fagre on bass and John Miller on keyboards.

Passineau's passion for her music and her diverse musical repertoire grabs her audiences and lifts up their spirits,” said Army Captain Trevor Garrett, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit manager for Southwest Asia. "Her gutsy, sultry style has been compared to many great singers, but is in fact, a style all her own."
