| Singer, songwriter and musician Mary White will tour with Armed Forces Entertainment in Cuba, performing New Year’s shows for the troops Dec. 31-Jan. 5.
“I have performed for the troops through Armed Forces Entertainment in the past and it is always so rewarding and memorable,” said White. “We are looking forward to visiting with the great men and women who defend our country, bringing them a piece of home and putting on a great show.”
While her band has been together for five years, White has been singing and writing since she was a young girl growing up in Longview, TX. White has written more than 200 songs and has had musical compositions featured in the movie “Elvis Has Left the Building,” HBO’s made for TV movie “The Gristle” and various film and television projects.
One of country music’s rising stars, White has released a CD entitled “Change of Pace” and her hit song “Take Me Back to Oklahoma” has received airplay in the U.S. and Europe. Currently, White is living in the Los Angeles area where she manages her recording studio, QP Sound. While working with numerous artists, producing and engineering their CDs, White continues to write music and perform locally.
“Mary’s musical talents are virtually limitless. She can play the guitar, keyboards and saxophone in addition to writing and performing her own songs,” said Air Force Captain A. Semrau, Armed Forces Entertainment Caribbean circuit manager. “Her energetic show will be a great way to kick off the New Year for the troops.”
