March 23, 2006 download story

Young Baltimore, Md., rockers, Mike Ruocco, Mac Calvaresi and Chris Shucosky know what it takes to rock the troops. The group, who successfully melded the power of punk with rock and pop to create a unique sound, will rock the worldís toughest audience April 18 ñ May 18 on their third Armed Forces Entertainment tour. Plunge will perform 21 shows at bases in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, Guam and Honolulu.

ìPlunge performs over 200 shows a year in the United States and it shows when they tour with us,î said CPT. Trevor Garrett, U.S. Army circuit manager for the Pacific region. ìThey know how to work a crowd and their shows are exactly what the troops want ñ good music with lots of energy.î

ìBeing able to travel the world and perform for people has always been my dream,î said lead singer Ruocco. ìTouring with Armed Forces Entertainment has been such a great experience. Itís given us the chance to get to know the troops and hear their experiences firsthand. They are always extremely grateful when we perform and we want to make sure they know how grateful we are for what they do.î

Ruocco started Plunge at the age of 12 with two neighborhood friends and has brought the group a long way from birthday party gigs and middle school talent shows. In 2004, the group signed with Atenzia Records and launched their debut album, Hometown Hero.
