Pomeroy, a band known for pioneering their own musical genre best described as rock-pop or funk-rap, is touring Southwest Asia September 30 through October 23. Out of Kansas City, the band has played together for more than eight years, selling more than 20,000 records and gaining loyal followers by the thousands.

“The troops in Southwest Asia will appreciate Pomeroy’s distinct sound and energy fused with a true passion for playing for military personnel,” said Army Captain Trevor Garrett, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit manager for the Southwest Asia circuit. “This band definitely appeals to the eclectic music enthusiast by resisting the typical music classification.”

Reiterating the fact that Pomeroy cannot be placed into a musical niche, Pomeroy has been able to share the stage with a variety of well-known artists from every genre such as Dave Matthews Band, Nelly, Incubus, Stone Temple Pilots, 311, Sister Hazel and Christina Aguilera.

Taking the Midwest by storm, the band prides itself on having an edgy sound with a pop-rock style. Pomeroy promises to play a number of cover songs ranging from Stevie Wonder to Bob Marley, bringing a little slice of home to the men and women serving in the Armed Forces. Along with the cover songs, Pomeroy will play original material, guaranteed to get the crowd grooving.

“We performed in Southwest Asia a couple of years ago with Armed Forces Entertainment, which was an amazing experience that no one can describe except those Americans who have gone over there and seen with their own eyes the sacrifices made daily by those serving in the military,” said Matt Marron, Pomeroy’s lead guitarist and vocalist. “The response from the troops to our show was overwhelming and we have felt compelled to make our way back over there, giving back to the armed forces through music.”

Touring throughout the Midwest, Pomeroy has performed in cities all over America including: Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Lincoln, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Champaign-Urbana, Kansas City and for their largest crowd of 1,000 people at the Sokol Hall in Omaha, NE. Recently, the band released their new live DVD featuring Pomeroy on stage and a unique look at the group behind the music.
