Cheerleading squad tours with Armed Force Entertainment through the Pacific

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders will tour with Armed Forces Entertainment elevating the spirits of U.S. troops stationed in the Pacific. The cheerleading squad will make appearances in Japan, Korea and Hawaii Feb. 2-18.

For more than 27 years, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers Cheerleaders have been entertaining National Football League (NFL) sports fans, from 65,000 fans every Sunday in Tampa Stadium to the 2003 Super Bowl XXXVII crowd. Spirited ladies feel that one of the most significant aspects of their professional cheerleading career is community involvement.

“We toured once with Armed Forces Entertainment right after 9/11 and it was the most amazing experience the cheerleaders and I have ever had,” said Sandy Charboneau, cheerleading coordinator for the Buccaneers Cheerleaders. “Armed Forces Entertainment was unbelievable to work with and if we could, we would tour again and again.”

The cheerleaders have been featured in Maxim, FHM, Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan and on the NFL Network show “Making the Squad.” Beyond entertaining fans at football games, these cheerleaders are dedicated to giving back through philanthropy, making regular appearances at community and charity events and occasionally acting as NFL ambassadors overseas.

“Because military personnel are away from home during the prime time of the NFL, season having the Buccaneers Cheerleaders visit brings the games closer to the troops,” said Air Force Captain A. Semrau, Armed Forces Entertainment Pacific circuit manager. “These ladies always put on a great show and I’m sure this visit will be no exception.”
