ARLINGTON, Va. – Country music superstar Trace Adkins will soon travel to the Persian Gulf to visit America’s armed forces as part of a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour. During his week-long trip, Adkins will perform for troops, visit remote forward operating bases, sign autographs and pose for pictures. He will also share personal accounts of how he started out in the music industry, talk one-on-one with troops and extend his heartfelt gratitude to those currently serving overseas in support of operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

A long-time supporter of the USO and the U.S. military, Adkins was the recipient of the 2007 USO Merit Award for his continuous dedication to supporting troops and assisting others. He also served as entertainment headliner for the USO World Gala in Washington, DC, and traveled to the Persian Gulf region on a USO tour in 2002. Adkins' dedication to U.S. troops also shines through in his music. In 2005, he paid tribute to America’s heroes with "Arlington," a poignant ballad featured on his double-platinum CD, “Songs About Me.”

“I’m really humbled by the opportunity to spend more time with our nation’s finest,” says Adkins. “This is such an honor for me to be able to visit with our military and tell them how much we truly appreciate all the sacrifices they make for our country and our freedom.”

Known for his one-of-a-kind voice and knack for putting believability into his songs, Adkins has been dominating the country music airwaves and energizing concert halls for more than a decade. Having charted more than twenty-five hit songs on Billboard’s country music charts, he has built a remarkable career with seven studio albums and two greatest hits compilations. Adkins' body of music includes such hit singles as “You’re Gonna Miss This,” "Ladies Love Country Boys," “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” “This Ain’t No Thinkin’ Thing,” “Every Light In The House,” and many others. “Muddy Water” is Adkins’ latest to crack country’s Top 40 and is still heating up the charts. The soul-stirring ballad is the first to be released from his new studio album due in stores November 25.
