World Wrestling Entertainment® travels with Armed Forces Entertainment on sixth overseas holiday tribute tour

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Chairman Vince McMahon, Superstars and Divas are visiting U.S. troops stationed in Iraq December 2-6. Hosted by Armed Forces Entertainment, the tour marks the sixth holiday “Tribute to the Troops” WWE has produced since 2003. The tour and a live-to-tape performance of “WWE Tribute to the Troops” will be presented as an hour-long WWE holiday special to air December 20th 9:00 pm (EST) on NBC.

In 2003 and 2004 Armed Forces Entertainment hosted WWE SmackDown® Superstars on tours and performances for troops in Iraq. The following 3 years, the SmackDown?, Monday Night RAW? and eventually the Divas of WWE, joined to conduct the holiday tours, meeting and performing before thousands of men and women of the U.S. military in Afghanistan in 2005 and in Iraq in 2007 and 2008.

This year, Mr. McMahon and WWE Superstars John Cena, Batista, Chris Jericho, JBL, Rey Mysterio and Divas Maria, Eve Torres and Kelly Kelly are among the talent traveling to Iraq to wish our troops happy holidays. The WWE Superstars will visit, sleep and eat with military personnel through a series of appearances. The tour culminates with a live performance featuring the WWE talent.

The WWE “Tribute to the Troops” tour marks the largest celebrity production to visit troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, with WWE Superstars visiting multiple bases throughout the counties on each tour.

The “Tribute to the Troops” special program will feature exciting matches from the live performance, as well as taped features that will share with the American public the experience of daily life for U.S. service men and women in Iraq as they continue to fight in the name of freedom.
