Welcome to the world of HIP KITTY! Their adventure began in the fall of 2002 in Nashville, TN. It was a meeting of destiny that was a phone call away from never happening… “It had been a busy day so when I was invited by a friend to meet up with some new musical acquaintances I was reluctant to head out. Something inside told me to go. God is good! That day changed our lives!” (Jen Halverson). That instant the personal and musical connection for Hip Kitty has allowed them to jump head first into the musical world.

Hip Kitty tours year round performing over 250 shows from Key West, Florida to Anchorage, Alaska and the Caribbean, bringing their high energy rock show to thousands and is establishing a loyal “Kat Krew” of fans in the process. Hip Kitty was top house band for the Rock n Roll Beach Club on Disney’s Pleasure Island for over 3 years up until their closing in September. Along with being a Disney regular, Hip Kitty still performs for many of Disney’s corporate and private events and weddings. Hip Kitty takes pride in performing for many military bases in the U.S. and was honored to be part of an Armed Forces Entertainment Tour. In between concert dates Hip Kitty is busy writing and recording new material.

Leading the band is vocalist, Jen Halverson (Jackson, MS). She packages her southern belle, girl next door personality with a sassy stage presence and diva vocals into a presence you can’t help but devour.

Fundamental to the Hip Kitty songwriting and sound is rocker guitarist Mike Goncalves (Howell, TN) brings an enthusiasm to the world of drumming. He bleeds a love for live performance with a flash that makes him a vital part of the Hip Kitty experience.

Rich Schiavo (Orlando, FL) is sure to blow your mind with his tight beats, rhythms and his strong rock vocals. He completes Hip Kitty’s dynamic rhythm section.

With each year of Hip Kitty’s growth, they pride themselves in bringing awareness to their charitable causes, which includes the Autism Society of Tennessee, Understanding U and The Dane Foundation which works with children with physical and mental disabilities. Their work with the Hattie Larlham Foundation won them the 2005 Volunteer Humanitarian award from the State of Ohio. They are also honored to support the National Humane Society of the United States and PETA to bring about animal cruelty awareness.
