Lemme
Many are blessed with the gift of song but
few rise to the level of showmanship, drive
and stamina it takes to make a significant
mark in the music industry. Upon learning
this at the age of 13, Lemme, born in a suburb
of Maryland, started laying the foundation
to become a premiere vocalist.
Lemme, alumni of Bowie State University,
had one of the greatest experiences of
acting, in 1997, when she starred as one
of the lead roles in the musical play 'Platinum',
written by Professor Elliott Moffitt. This
African American rendition of 'Grease',
gave Lemme the opportunity to gain acting
experience and perform with other talented
aspiring actors and vocalists. At Bowie
State University, Lemme was also a member
of the BSU Gospel Choir singing leads to
'It's Been Joy' and Kirk Franklin's 'Now
Behold the Lamb'. The choir toured and
competed in national competitions in New
York City. Lemme was also privileged to
tour briefly with rap group 'Sporty Thievz'
known for the single 'Cheapskate'. While
with the Sporty Thievz, Lemme appeared
on the BET Soundstage television series
as well as local colleges and universities.
While touring and acting she simultaneously
began cutting vocals in Maryland studios
such as New Horizons, Capital Heights,
MD, Exposure Studio, Bowie, MD, and KC
Productions, Silver Spring, MD. She completed
her first demo with Choice One Records,
enabling her to gain exposure to music
'indies' and capture gigs at nightclubs
along the east coast.
Lemme feels that her songs are an interpretation
of the world from a young woman's perspective.
Through her music she hopes to inspire
women to embrace their potential for greatness
and allow nothing to hinder them on that
journey. Her tireless efforts and commitment
to singing coupled with a friendly appeal
to her audience is what makes her genuine.
The nurturing is over. The maturity of
her music is continuously unfolding. Good
voices are plentiful in the industry. Singers
with personal authority - inestimable.
Lemme is blessed with these gifts and,
as evident in her performances, is not
reluctant to use them. It is now time for
the rest of the world to be introduced,
enjoy and recognize this multifaceted,
extraordinary talent!
