The Nu Family Band

Originally from Chicago, The Nu Family Band is part of the Nu Revolution to create, promote and inspire Conscious Music that will "Help Make a Better Day for the Children."

While growing up in Chicago, sisters Guitar Sallye & Tamah helped to create "The Robert Taylor Youth Foundation" which opened up a school of music, that took the kids in the projects off the streets, from gang banging and taught them how to play Musical Instuments. That is also when Guitar Sallye & Tamah first picked up the guitar and bass, and began to create their sound "Soul da Pop Music." They then formed the posse Nu Family (which consisted of family members and friends). The Band began to tour across America!

After being urged by good friend Bootsy Collins to take the Nu Family Review to Europe, the girls are well received with open arms by the European Community. While in Europe they started their company "Soul da Pop Musik" which has enable them to spread their message and enjoy financial success.

Musical friends Hub (bass player with The Roots) & Cody Chesnutt (from Dave Chapelles Block Party) have always inspired the girls to Keep The Children 1st! Since noticing that Family Values are rapidly declining,the girls are staying strong on being part of The Revolution to Keep the Tradition of Family alive.

While being heavenly influenced by great family bands and legends such as Sly & the Family Stone, Bootys Rubber Band and Jimmy Hendrix, the girls truly believe their purpose is to pass their musical knowledge and experience onto the kids therefore helping to "Make a Better Day for the Children."
