Thom Shepherd
Thom Shepherd is a singer, songwriter, and entertainer born in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Stephens City, Virginia, and after receiving his Bachelors Degree from George Mason University gave up a budding career in the film and television industry to take his best shot at the Nashville music scene. He is the writer of Craig Morgans Number One hit single, Redneck Yacht Club. The song has been certified GOLD for selling over 100,000 downloads and is now available on the album "Totally Country 5." Hes also had songs covered by Montgomery Gentry, Pam Tillis, Buddy Jewell, Kevin Fowler, George Canyon, Ronnie Bowman, and Cledus T. Judd. But the song hes proudest of is "Riding with Private Malone." The song, recorded by David Ball, went to Number 1 in Gavin, Number 2 in Billboard and R&R, and was Number 1 on the Texas Music Chart for two months straight. It won an Achievement Award from the Nashville Songwriters Association, voted on by their members as the song you wish you had written. Thom even got to be in the video, playing the title role. But thats only part of the reason he came to Nashville. He is an incredible performer and award-winning vocalist as well. He has toured Alaska three times for Armed Forces Entertainment, and entertained troops in seven countries in Europe and in Greenland in 2005. He has opened for the Charlie Daniels Band, Pam Tillis, Ty Herndon, Sammy Kershaw, Neal McCoy, Ricky Van Shelton, Mark Collie, John Michael Montgomery, Exile, and Mel McDaniel. He has also performed on stage with Vern Gosdin, Keith Urban, Dean Dillon, Ricochet, David Ball, and Jim Ed Brown. His latest CD, Side Effects, features eleven of his original songs.
