Terrence Garrick

Retired Military Officer Terrence A. Garrick is CEO and Founder of Keeping It Real Inc a fulltime motivational, inspirational, educational, empowerment, and leadership agency for educators, adults, young adults, adults, troubled youth, gang members, military members, veterans, high school and college students, inmates, and business professionals, he hails from Columbia, SC., and was the youngest of nine children, raised as an inner-city youth in the Saxon Homes Projects, and now uniquely articulate and highly respected product and role model of National Urban League, Salvation Army Association, NAACP, National Gang Out, and Boys and Girls Clubs of America programs.

He graduated as a distinguished military graduate (ranked #2 of 250) and Magna Cum Laude from Voorhees College with associate degrees in Criminal Justice/Theology and bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He also participated in the ROTC program at the South Carolina State University. After graduation, he was commissioned in the United States Army as a second lieutenant. He attended the following military institutions, Command General Staff College, National Defense University, Joint Communication Strategy School, Special Forces Operations JFK University, and Advanced Joint Military Psychological School. He later achieved a MBA in Business Management from Belford University.

His education also includes studies in cultural and ethnicity where he specialized in African, South American, Middle Eastern, European, and Asian cultures. Other specialized education includes training in the French Language, International Relations, Psychological Operations, Conflict and Problem Solving, Public Speaking, Self-Motivation, American History, Professional Development, Strategic Marketing Communication, Military Deception, Conflict Resolutions, Diversity Procedures, PTSD, Drugs Prevention, and Human-Behavior Factors.

Garrick has received numerous awards and achievements to include recognition as President of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity while in College, Voorhees College National Dean and President Lists, ”Who’s Who among America Universities and Colleges and Outstanding Young Man in America.” In 1999 was the National Youth Speaker honoree, and again in 2003. He is a donor for the Palmetto Health Children Medical Center. He served as a mentor to DJJ students in South Carolina. He was featured in Ebony’s June 2005’s issue as one of their most eligible bachelor. He is listed as one of the Columbia Housing Authority Wall of Fame honorees, and the Mayor’s Keys to the City of Columbia Recipient.
