NFL Champions and the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders

Marco Rivera
In 1996, Marco Rivera was chosen by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. He played offensive guard for the Packers for nine NFL seasons during which time he was a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2002, 2003, 2004) and two time All-Pro selection (2003, 2004). Rivera was the Green Bay Packers' 2004 Ed Block Courage Award recipient, a prestigious award voted on by his peers, that is given to one player on every team that symbolizes sportsmanship, professionalism, great strength and courage, and dedication. In 2005, the Dallas Cowboys acquired Rivera in free agency where he started for two seasons before injuring his back. In 2007, Rivera was released by the Dallas Cowboys due to serious back problems and ultimately retired from the NFL as a Green Bay Packer in 2008. Rivera was inducted into the Green Bay Packer Hall Of Fame in 2011.

Rivera also is a community role model. From 1998 to 2004, he ran a football camp called The Marco Rivera Pee Wee Camp in San Juan, Puerto Rico for kids ages nine through 16. Each year, the camp was attended by more than 500 children and numerous NFL stars donated their time to participate. While in Puerto Rico, Rivera along with other NFL players, visited area hospitals, such as San Jorge Children's Hospital and Centro Medico. In 2002, Rivera partnered with the Green Bay Humane Society and participated in their first ever Pet Walk, where more than 900 families came out to walk their pets and raise money for the Humane Society. In 2003, Rivera joined with Jerry Parins on a motorcycle ride to benefit the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. Rivera also has been a proud supporter of and donated countless hours of service to Muscular Dystrophy Association, Abused Moms with Kids, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Big Brother Big Sister. In 2009, Rivera served as the honorary chair of the American Cancer Society's Silver Dollar Ball here in Texas.


R.W. McQuarters
Robert Williams McQuarters is, known throughout the NFL as R.W. McQuarters and to his teammates as R Dubbs, is a former cornerback for the New York Giants and Chicago Bears of the National Football League. McQuarters originally was selected 28th overall in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers out of Oklahoma State University. He was traded to the Chicago Bears by San Francisco on June 5, 2000, and then signed with the Detroit Lions on June 22, 2005. McQuarters later signed with the New York Giants on March 14, 2006.

McQuarters graduated a two-time All-state selection from Washington High School (Tulsa, Oklahoma) where he earned USA Today and Parade All-America honors his senior year. He was selected Defensive Player of the Year by Tulsa World and Daily Oklahoman. McQuarters rated top defensive back in the Midwest by Blue Chip Illustrated.

McQuarters has four children with his long-time partner and high school sweetheart, Monique: two sons, Robert William III and Rylan; and two daughters, Reagan and Ricki Wrene.

McQuarters founded the R.W. McQuarters Foundation, to provide financial aid to other non-profit organizations. McQuarters is one of Oklahoma State University's most significant benefactors with a generous $2.5 million gift. He promotes the importance of physical fitness as a speaker at the New York Giants "Youth Day" training camp and often is in attendance at dinners and fundraisers benefiting various charities. In 2007, McQuarters donated his once-famous, long dreadlocks to Locks of Love. McQuarters currently is working on his first-in-a-series of children's books that encourage and inspire children to follow their dreams through the message that hard work, tenacity and integrity pays off in the game of life.


Washington Redskins Cheerleaders
From the Redskinettes to the First Ladies of Football, the Redskins Cheerleaders are the longest running cheerleading team in the NFL. Founded in 1962, and originally named the Redskinettes, this team has brought worldwide recognition to the Washington, D.C. area, the Redskins football team and the NFL.

Partnered with the largest and most prominent Alumni Association among cheerleading teams, the women who have cheered and continued to support the Redskins have also helped raise millions since the team’s inception and support more charities and community events every year.

In the most powerful city in the world, the most popular professional sports team is only a part of FedExField. The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders are growing across the country and around the world. They are lighting up the airwaves and the media with new routines, uniforms, attitudes and have raised the bar of excellence for every other NFL cheerleading squad.

Adorned in burgundy and gold, flanking the field on every side and executing routines that would make even the fastest football player gasp for air, these ladies strive for one thing - to make a difference.
