The Zinghoppers

The Zinghoppers were created by the husband and wife team of Kitty and Jack Norton. Both are teachers with a love of music and a passion for communicating to young children in a fresh, engaging and fun way. The Zinghoppers started in the classroom, as sock puppets! Kitty noticed that her students responded to funny character voices, so she made some simple sock puppets - a donkey, kangaroo and possum! The characters helped get the kids to clean up, wash their hands and line up for lunch. They made up little silly "piggy-back" songs - when you take a simple song, like "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and use that melody and write new lyrics on the spot - and the kids loved it. The Zinghoppers create a sense of joy and happiness in young audiences - they are are kind of a soundtrack to a child's joy.
