The Wee Bag Band is a very dynamic and upbeat 5-piece Irish and Celtic Music Band, that also plays a hint of bluegrass. They have been playing music together for over 15 years.
This year we have Davey on Guitar & Vocals, Mark on Bass & Vocals, Jules on Fiddle, Alan on Bodhran (Irish frame drum) and Rory on Mandolin, Whistles, Harmonica & Vocals.
Rory, Jules and Alan are based in North Wales in the UK while Davey & Mark are based in Waterford in Southern Ireland. Rory and Davey are brothers.
The bands style of music covers all genres of Irish music from the Jigs & Reels (think Riverdance) to the traditional popular ballads of the Irish Rover, Whiskey in the Jar and Star of the County Down through to the more contemporary pieces such as Galway Girl (Steve Earl), Fisherman’s Blues (Waterboys), Las Vegas in Donegal (Goats Don’t Shave). They also throw a few oddballs in such as Zorba the Greek, It’s the End of the World (REM), Copperhead Road (Steve Earl) and Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash).
